Digital Panorex

We work hard to provide our patients with the most technologically advanced treatment options available. One of the best tools we utilize is the Digital Panorex system that takes incredible 360 degree images of your teeth, head, sinuses and bones. Our Renton, WA area patients are enjoying the benefits from having their periodontal issues caught earlier rather than later. By catching small issues before they become big problems, we are able to provide the best care possible.

With this technology, our team at Fairwood Dental Center is able to view the full structure of your head. This is great because we are now able to see any potential problems more clearly. We will also be able to see whether or not your mouth and jaw is functioning correctly. The Panorex is capable of viewing specific structural problems, infections and asymmetry any asymmetry in the area.

If you haven’t had a Panorex X-Ray before, you’re going to be surprised how simple and safe it is. We’ll give you a lead apron to protect from the radiation (digital X-rays emit up to 80% less radiation than traditional systems), but you’ll be standing rather than sitting. A camera will rotate in a half circle around your head, starting at one side of the jaw and ending at the other. The imaging only takes a couple of seconds and the images are available immediately. Our staff does not need to wait for the images to print anymore, saving you time and also saving the environment.

Sealants

Good oral hygiene is the first step to protecting your teeth and having less tooth decay, but sometimes it isn’t enough to have healthy teeth. Along with brushing and flossing twice a day and visiting our dental office every six months, we also provide dental sealants. They are especially useful for children who have their molars, which come in between 5 and 7 years of age, and again between 11 and 14 years of age.

Dental sealants protect the molars from cavities and tooth decay. The molars are most susceptible to cavities because they are chewed on most often, and decay because they are harder to reach with a toothbrush and dental floss. Dr. Harinder S. Walia, Dr. Aishwarya Ramanan and Dr. Arti Bhan-Kachroo can put a liquid sealant on these teeth that hardens and further protects to teeth from excessive decay. It can last about 10 years before needing to be applied again.

Patients of all ages visit us here at Fairwood Dental Center for dental sealants. It reduces the amount of work that needs to be done on the teeth over time and gives patients a healthy looking smile. Visit our website at www.fairwooddental.com today to learn more about sealants or give us a call at 425-271-7725

Family Dental Practice

If you are searching for a family dental practice, there are certain qualities you might be looking for. Most families appreciate a friendly atmosphere, comfortable accommodations and a dental team that is established and experienced enough to handle your family’s dental needs with great care and consideration. At Fairwood Dental Center, we have established a reputation in the Renton, WA area as a family dental practice where parents are able to relax knowing their family is in the best hands possible.

During office visits, our doctors put an emphasis on preventative care to our patients. Preventive care is the basic things patients should be doing to take care of their teeth and gums: brushing, flossing, eating a healthy diet, and seeing a dentist regularly to help avoid dental disease. Our team believes that children should be taught proper oral hygiene techniques at a young age so they do not develop any bad habits. Preventive dentistry is particularly important for children, whose teeth, mouth and gums are still developing. Preventing abnormal growth and cavities in children is easier, more painless and less costly than treating dental problems after they've fully developed.

Not only do our doctors offer dental services for children, but we also have many cosmetic, preventative and restorative dentistry options for adults. They offer a variety of restorative and preventive dental services - each designed to extend the life of your teeth and total dental health. Orthodontic Options

Thanks to advances in orthodontic technology, you no longer have to feel embarrassed or self-conscious because you have to wear braces. You also don’t have to wear braces for over a year to get the best results anymore. At Fairwood Dental Center, we offer braces and Invisalign for patients hoping to straighten their teeth.

Invisalign aligners are plastic, removable mouth pieces that gradually straighten teeth over time. They give less force per week and cause considerably less pain to straighten teeth compared to traditional braces. Since the pieces are transparent, patients are able to maintain their smile while improving it at the same time. One of the main complaints of traditional braces, while they are effective, they often leave stain marks on the teeth. This is not the case with Invisalign; patients are able to remove the mouth pieces in order to brush and floss well regularly. They do not interfere with your speech either.

We also offer traditional braces for patients looking to correct bite problems while straightening their teeth. These braces are made of strong metal alloys and are considered the smallest and most comfortable option. While they do take the longest of all the orthodontic options made available at our practice, they are the most effective when it comes to aligning teeth and correcting bite problems.
